This was one of the final remnants of the ’91 Jeep Cherokee that was traded in for the Subaru in ’09. I was pulled over and informed that it was too decrepit to be legible and that I needed to get it replaced. Turns out, Michigan has a recently enacted law that license plates now expire after 10 years, probably for this exact reason.
My Dad did the original registration of the Jeep, but I’m guessing that happened in 2000, so the plate was 15 years old. I do like that when I got the Subaru, Delta Imports put their frame around it, sprucing it up just a little.
Picture taken with Samsung Galaxy S4, lens @ 4.2mm, 1/120 sec shutter, f/2.2, ISO 50. Because that matters when taking pictures of old, rusty license plates.
