Followed this gray heron for a while – I’m not sure if I was bothering it, it was on the other side of a river and I was shooting with a 420mm lens, but I’m not familiar with herons roosting in trees either.

* I think this is reporting lens only because the teleconverter takes this lens from a f/5.6 to an f/8 equivalent and the 60D, in theory, won’t even try to auto focus at that aperture. At the same time, I have no idea why I’d have been trying to shoot this distance in low light at f/10.
