Colorado Skiing — Day 5 — Beaver Creek

Our final day, or really, I should say half-day of skiing was at Beaver Creek.  We got a  later start than we should have thanks to the need to pack up and move out in the morning and we had to depart shortly after 3:00 to get the first of our group to the airport on time.

This is apparently the most ritzy of all the places we were going and they were reputed to serve hot chocolate and cookies at the top of the hills.  I found neither.

The snow at BC was OK, but it seemed to be getting slushier than most places had been.  I’m not sure if it was just the direction the hills faced or if it got warmer on Friday.  Because of the heavy snow and it being the fifth day of skiing, I was not really hopping off into the trees very much – I’ve learned that lesson.  Beyond the trees, they had a pretty expansive area, but it was maybe not the most interesting of the places we skied.

After skiing, Callum, Jason and I headed out for the airport.  I took the red-eye home through Atlanta, arriving back in GR just before noon on Saturday.  Conveniently, Callum was able to get us into the Delta lounge for our layover there, so I was able to arrive home feeling at least a little cleaner and more rested than would otherwise have been possible.

I was apparently feeling lazy by this time, so you get one panorama as compiled on the fly by a Panasonic Lumix TS4.  I know others took more pictures than I and may update this if I get my hands on some of them.
