I’ve apparently spent a lot of time wandering around zoos, and the Lincoln Park Zoo in particular. So, this picture is the start of the series “Lincoln Park Zoo Animals” (I felt very creative in coming up with that title). Independent of various thoughts on animals in captivity, I like taking pictures of animals; they’re more interesting than plants and while they don’t have the presence of beautiful landscapes, they’re variable and readily available subjects.
First and foremost, this is Slumpy, the zoo’s most notable resident. OK – that’s probably just because the camel enclosure is by the entrance and I can’t differentiate the other camels. Here he (or she, I don’t actually know) is in full derp mode gnawing on the log pillars.
