So, this is an aside from the daily photo, but with the photo of the Canadian tiger swallowtail from a few days ago. I should have taken a bit more time to prep the butterfly photo from a few days ago, or maybe I should have been more familiar with the tools available and how to use them. The first picture is the picture as posted. The second has the leaves desaturated and darkened a little bit as well as being obviously cropped as compared to the first. I didn’t like the extra dark area under the butterfly and didn’t feel the need to keep the extra leaf area to the left.
The desaturation of the leaves did make the detail more apparent, which one could argue is distracting.
