Skiing Vacation

I have spent the last three days skiing at Killington VT. I don’t claim to have skied everything available, but we did a pretty good job of trying out the majority of what was available. I am now good and tired, and most every part of my legs hurts, so that means good things. I probably did not get many good pictures, because as much as I love taking pictures, skiing tends to come first on the list of things to do at a ski resort.

The only downside that I have found is that since it is a resort town, things are a little more expensive and the people aren’t quite as accommodating as elsewhere. I wanted to use a computer and printer and all people would tell me is that there was a cyber-cafe that opened at 11am – not useful. It ended up not being a problem, as we visited Hanover and their public library was nice enough to have computers for use and printing for 10 cents / page, which they simply trust you to pay (and I did). As for the cost, we planned well to limit the need to buy things here – I’d still like to get a hat and a shot glass, but we’ll see about that…

So, in summary:
*We had some of the best weather possible – today was the worst day of the three because there were clouds in the sky this morning.
*The snow, although not really fresh powder, has as been excellent.
*The place where we are saying is quite awesome.
*The people who ended up going have been fun to hang out with, etc.
*The drive was about the same as going to Mt. Bohemia in the UP.

Anyway, I’m going to be disappointed that it’s all over, which is a sure sign that it was worth doing and quite grand. I also have decided that I want a new helmet, and may be buying one tomorrow as some stores around here are having end of season sales – depends on how much money I want to spend, and if I decide I like the colors they have in stock. I might also being heading up to Boyne (sure to disappoint) for one last ski this weekend… at which time I may try to knock down my own personal speed record (no new speed records were set here, it’s not really the right kind of skiing for that)

It might have been true… I’m sad now. I was hoping to hear about her once you got back.
