[singlepic id=1083 w=480 float=left] Shot of a Canadian Tiger Swallowtail taken near the Cut River Bridge in the Upper Peninsula – which is fitting since that’s almost Canada. This was a side stop on a trip to Mackinac Island to do a little hiking. Turns out, we couldn’t follow the… Continue reading
[singlepic id=1082 h=480 float=left] There’s not much story behind this picture – it’s just pretty. I was in Austin, TX working on a project for Dell and stayed over a weekend. Steve suggested hiking around Mount Bonnell, a park encompassing the highest point in Austin and situated on the Colorado… Continue reading
[singlepic id=1081 w=480 float=left] From my first trip to Asia – a picture of the tuned mass damper at the top of Taipei 101. This is a 728 ton ‘ball’ of steel suspended near the top of a 101 story building so that the building doesn’t sway too much in… Continue reading
[singlepic id=1080 w=480 float=left] From the same airshow as the previous Blue Angels shot, this one is of one of my favorite aircraft as a kid, the A10. The fun facts that I remember, or as the case may be, misremember (see previous Wikipedia link if you want real information):… Continue reading
[singlepic id=1074 w=480 float=left] I’m not sure if I like airshows more than average, or if I’ve just been to more airshows than average, but I’m quite certain one of the two is true. Of course, airshows + any lens longer than 200mm = time to practice photography. With that… Continue reading
[singlepic id=1072 w=480 float=left] This is the Toronto Skywalk, picture taken when Steve, Mark, Elizabeth and I went for a long weekend in Canada sometime around my Junior or Senior year at MSU. The trip started pretty poorly when the back window of Elizabeth’s car exploded for reasons that we… Continue reading
[singlepic id=1071 h=480 float=left] Last shot from Europe for a bit… This is a picture of the Edinburgh Castle in Scotland. It wasn’t the nicest weather when we were there – as is reflected in the sky, but for the most part it didn’t rain. We were only really there… Continue reading
[singlepic id=1070 h=480 float=left] Continuing with the European tour theme, here’s a shot of the Eiffel Tower. We visited Paris over a weekend that included Bastille Day (July 14th) which is the day on which the start of the French Revolution started. It’s celebrated similar to our 4th of July… Continue reading
[singlepic id=1069 w=480 float=left] This was taken on the way to Stonehenge on a side-stop to get out of the van, stretch and see a few more things along the way. I don’t think there’s anything famous about this house in particular, but our guide was showing us some of… Continue reading
[singlepic id=1063 w=640 float=left] This was taken on the same ‘Germany trip’ (it was a three and a half month trip and 11 other countries were visited in that time) on a one week-long break around the middle of that time when we went to the UK. A small bunch… Continue reading
