Ponte Vecchio

This one comes from Florence, Italy – it’s a shot up the Arno River looking at the Ponte Vecchio, which Wikipedia tells me means
“Old Bridge.”  After Janet and I left Sicily, which was delayed and almost didn’t happen, we headed for Florence where we’d meet Mark and Ashley.  With our delay and a delay on the train, we didn’t get to Florence until after dark, so we made our way straight to the hotel.  The next morning, we had a few hours to tour around before we were continuing on, so we took a walk to the bridge and then to the Gallery of the Academy where The David statue is.  We were good tourists and obeyed the no pictures rule in the museum, so all the pictures are from the surrounding areas of the city.

I went back and forth on the color correction on this one – the original shot was quite yellow, which gave the yellow and orange buildings a nice rich look and settled them into the background nicely.  The ‘fully’ color corrected version made everything look cold, which didn’t seem right.  This falls somewhere in between I think, where the buildings still look good, but the sky does not look sickly yellow.
