Anemone
Second anemone shot – same color, different anemone. The green ones this size were not the most common, but they were plentiful. Picture taken with Sony a6000, SEL18200 lens @ 200mm, 1/320 sec, f/8, ISO 800

One of a plethora of anemone’s we saw in the tidepools, though most were much smaller and less photogenic than this one. Yeah, it’s a photogenic anemone. I must have had a polarizer on for this shot because it’s 4x the ISO as the others and 4x lower shutter, which… Continue reading
Shot down into the Devil’s Punchbowl along the Oregon coast. I realized I haven’t posted any pictures from this day yet, so I’ll put a few out there before I post the full writeup. Picture taken with Sony a6000, SEL18200 lens @ 18mm, 1/125 sec, f/11, ISO 100
Crater Lake from the top of Mt. Scott – which I suspect is the highest viewpoint in the area. The watch tower / ranger outpost is one of several in the area. Picture taken with Sony a6000, SEL18200 lens @ 18mm, 1/400 sec, f/8, ISO 100
There’s nothing particularly notable about this building and courtyard in Japan and I’m not even sure what the building is. A closer shot of the top of Mt. Rainier – taken from within Mt. Rainier National Park. This was the closest we got to the mountain. There were some hikes that went into the foothills but they were mostly longer than we had time for. Picture taken with Sony a6000,… Continue reading
Our camp site on Lake of the Angels. One of the better camp sites I’ve partaken in for sure. Picture taken with Sony a6000, SEL 18-200mm lens @ 36mm, 1/320 sec, f/8, ISO 100
One more of the mountain goat that we came upon at the top of Mt. Ellinor. They lick the rocks scavenging salt. There are plentiful warnings that they will also lick / nibble / attack people to get at their sweaty and thus salty clothes. Picture taken with Sony a6000, SEL… Continue reading
Pulled another one from the Grand Tetons, taken over Taggart Lake. I’ve posted some of these before, but A) I like this one a lot and B) it’s almost an exact match for one of the scenes in the virtual active system on our work fitness equipment. Picture taken with Canon… Continue reading
Panorama of Empire, MI which is what you see if you look the other direction from the top of the dunes. Pictures taken with Sony a6000, SELP1650 lens @ 40mm, 1/200 sec shutter, f/9.0, ISO 100
